Golden State Warriors superstar Steph Curry's ankle will be re-evaluated on Tuesday and according to sources, aims to return for the team's next game against the Atlanta Hawks on Friday.

The two-time MVP has been out since tweaking his right ankle in a game against the San Antonio Spurs on March 8 and missed the past five games. It was the fourth ankle injury of the season for Curry.

With the postseason, the defending champions are being cautious with Curry. The 30-year-old didn't travel with the team on its three road contests, in which the Warriors went 1-2 and are 2-3 overall in his absense.

Curry is having another strong season, averaging 26.3 points per game on 49.4 per cent shooting from the field and 42.4 per cent from three point range to go along with 6.2 assists and 5.1 rebounds.

It has been a tough month of March for the Warriors. Not only is Curry injured, but Golden State is currently also without All-Stars Kevin Durant (ribs) and Klay Thompson (hand).

The Warriors currently sit three and a half games back of the Houston Rockets for first place in the Western Conference with a record of 53-18.
