Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Nick Foles will void the option for the 2019 season the team will place on him, allowing him to hit free agency, according to a report from NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

Earlier Monday ESPN's Tim McManus reported the Eagles informed Foles they will exercise his option for the 2019 season. Foles opted out of the option for $2 million.

According to a report from ESPN's Adam Schefter earlier this week, the Eagles next move will be to use the franchise tag on Foles before trading him. Schefter reported the Eagles hope to land a third round draft pick for Foles.

For the second season in a row, Foles replaced an injured Carson Wentz and helped lead the Eagles to a playoff spot, throwing for 1,413 yards and seven touchdowns over five regular season games. He led Philadelphia to a Super Bowl victory over the New England Patriots the season before.

The 30-year-old Foles will enter his eighth NFL season next year.
