Tight end Tyler Eifert and linebacker Vontaze Burfict will not be on the field when the Cincinnati Bengals open training camp, according to a report from ESPN. Eifert will be placed on the physically unable to perform list (PUP) while Burfict will be placed on the non-football injury list (NFI).

Eifert sat out the team’s off-season work with an undisclosed injury while Burfict’s injury is also not known, according to the ESPN report.

Burfict will miss the first four games of the season regardless as he sits out with a suspension for violating the league’s performance enhancing drug policy.

Eifert has a long history of injuries in his five seasons in the NFL. The 27-year-old played just two games last season, 10 in the past two seasons, and 39 over the course of five seasons for the Bengals.

Burfict has also missed significant time in his six seasons with the Bengals, battling both injuries and suspensions. The 27-year-old played in 10 games last season, finishing with 48 tackles and 1.5 sacks, and 68 games over six seasons.
