The San Diego Padres are meeting with Bryce Harper and his representatives either Thursday or Friday in Las Vegas, according to a report by Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic. The meeting is expected to include ownership representatives.

According to the report, Harper or his representatives have met with a number of teams, in some cases more than once, though he is not close to signing a deal.

Harper has spent his entire seven-season MLB career with the Washington Nationals after the team selected him first overall in the 2010 MLB Draft.

The 26-year-old made his debut in 2012 and appeared in 139 games on his way to capturing the National League Rookie of the Year award.

His best season came in 2015 when he hit a career-high 42 homers and added 99 RBI, leading the league in both on-base and slugging percentage. For his efforts, he was unanimously named the NL MVP that year.

Harper is a six-time All-Star and was named Silver Slugger in 2015.
