The Memphis Grizzlies are interested in EuroLeague head coach and former NBA player Sarunas Jasikevicius as they continue their coaching search according to a report from Adrian Wojnarowski and Brian Windhorst of ESPN

The two sides plan to meet in the "near future," although Memphis' coaching search is still in the "early stages" according to the report. Executive VP of basketball operations Zach Kleiman is reportedly running the search.

Jasikevicius "has rapidly built a reputation as a legitimate NBA head-coaching candidate in his three seasons as coach of Zalgiris in Lithuania" write Wojnarowski and Windhorst.

He was interviewed by Raptors president Masai Ujiri during the team's coaching search last summer before Toronto ultimately decided to go with former assistant Nick Nurse.

The 43-year-old spent two seasons in the NBA from 2005 to 2007, appearing in a combined 138 games for the Indiana Pacers and Golden State Warriors.

The Grizzlies have been searching for a new bench boss ever since parting ways with J.B. Bickerstaff at the end of the season. Bickerstaff took over from David Fizdale, who was let go mid-way through the 2017-18 season.

Memphis finished the season at 33-49 to miss the playoffs for the second straight year.
