It looks like Detroit Lions fans can breathe a sigh of relief. According to Ian Rapoport of NFL.com, the Lions expect quarterback Matthew Stafford to play Sunday against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Stafford had his throwing hand stepped on by Terrell Suggs in last week's loss to the Baltimore Ravens. He was listed as questionable on the team's injury report during the week.

He has not missed a start since the 2010 season.

In 12 games so far this season, the 29-year-old has a completion percentage of 63.9 per cent and 22 touchdowns compared to just seven interceptions.
