The Baltimore Sun is reporting that the Baltimore Orioles are finalizing a minor-league deal with catcher J.P. Arencibia.

The deal includes an invitation to spring training.

The 29-year-old spent last season with the Texas Rangers, splitting time between the major and minor leagues.

In the field, Arencibia played both catcher and first base for Texas, as well as some designated hitter for the injury-riddled club.

In 63 games with the Rangers, he hit .177 with 10 home runs and 35 RBI.
