According to Pat Leonard of the New York Daily News, multiple NFL sources say the Los Angeles Rams have talked with the New York Giants about a potential trade for star wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr.

Leonard adds that the Daily News learned that the Giants' asking price in a prospective trade for Beckham starts at "a first-round pick plus" with the "plus" being negotiable.

Neither Rams' general manager Les Snead nor head coach Sean McVay would comment when approached by the News on Monday.

This all comes after Beckham Jr. stoked the flames with the New York Giants in regards to his potential contract extension.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport's understanding of Beckham Jr.'s mindset towards this situation is that he "will not set foot on a field without a new contract extension agreed to with the Giants or any other team."

This information from Rapoport comes just a day after Giants owner John Mara said at the NFL Owners meetings in Orlando that it's possible that his star wide receiver could find himself on another team's roster this upcoming season.

"I can't answer that one way or the other. We're certainly not shopping him," Mara said. "Again, when you're coming off a season when you're 3-13 and played as poorly as we played, I wouldn't say that anyone is untouchable."

Per Ralph Vacchiano of SportsNet New York, Giants co-owner Steve Tisch on Monday at the owners meetings called a potential Beckham holdout hypothetical and also said that contract talks between the team and the wide receiver have already begun.

Beckham Jr. is set to play this upcoming season on the last year of his rookie contract. He has not been shy in the past about stating that he'd like to be the highest paid player in the NFL.

"It's like the elephant in the room, and you don't want to talk about it," Beckham told The Uninterrupted in 2017. "But I've gotten to the point in my life where I'm like, 'No, I'm going to ... there's no need to not talk about it.

"I believe that I will be hopefully not just the highest-paid receiver in the league, but the highest-paid, period."

The Giants selected Beckham Jr. 12th overall in the 2014 draft. He played in just four games after last season after incurring a season-ending ankle injury. Beckham Jr., a three-time Pro Bowler, owns career numbers of 313 receptions 4424 yards and 38 touchdowns.
