Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown has officially requested a trade from the club, ESPN Adam Schefter reports.

Brown hinted at the news on Twitter Tuesday, writing, "Thank you SteelerNation for a big 9 years...time to move on and forward."

Brown had an eventful 2018 that has included reported issues with his head coach, Mike Tomlin, as well as teammates including quarterback Ben Roethlisberger. 

He finished the season with 104 receptions for 1,294 yards and 15 touchdowns.

Brown is entering the third of year of a five-year $72.7 million contract with the Steelers.
