Manti Te'o is close to signing with the New Orleans Saints, according to a report from ESPN.

ESPN's Dan Graziano reported Monday Te'o and the Saints are close to a deal, which could be finalized as early as Tuesday.

Te'o spent the first four years of his career with the San Diego Chargers after the team drafted him in the second round in 2013.

The 26-year-old has battled injuries early in his career and played in just three games last season, finishing with 17 tackles and three stuffs.

For his career, the Notre Dame product has 222 tackles in 38 games.
