Houston Texans quarterback Ryan Mallet’s season appears to be set for an early ending.

According to multiple reports, Mallet tore his right pectoral muscle prior to or during Sunday’s loss to the Cincinnati Bengals. The injury is believed to be season ending.

Mallett started two games for the Bengals, completing 21 of 45 passes for 400 yards with tow touchdowns and two interceptions. The Texans (5-6) went 1-1 under Mallett.

The Texans are expected to return to Ryan Fitzpatrick at pivot. Fitzpatrick started the Texans first nine games of the season.
