Cleveland Cavaliers restricted free agent Tristan Thompson is expected to miss the team's media day on Monday after the two sides failed to come to a contract agreement, ESPN.com is reporting.

According to ESPN.com, the Cavaliers did not accept Thompson's most recent offer of a three-year maximum contract that was tabled to the team last week.

The Cavaliers are reportedly offering Thompson five years, $80 million, while Thompson is asking for a five-year max contract but will settle for a three-year max contract.

Thompson has until Thursday to accept the Cavs' one-year qualifying offer of $6.9 million that would enable him to become an unrestricted free agent next summer. If he lets his qualifying offer expire, he'd remain a restricted free agent.

The 24-year-old Toronto native averaged 8.5 points and eight rebounds per game last season.
