Tristan Thompson is "willing" to get a deal done with the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Drafted fourth overall in the 2011 NBA Draft out of Texas, the power forward from Toronto appeared in all 82 games and started 15 for the Cavs last season, averaging 8.5 points and eight rebounds in 26.8 minutes a night.

The playoffs were the 24-year-old's coming out party, though, after Kevin Love went down to a shoulder injury in the team's first-round series with the Boston Celtics.

Thompson started 15 of the team's 20 playoff games in the spring, averaging 9.6 points and 10.8 boards in 36.6 minutes a night. The Cavs would lose the NBA Finals in six games to the Golden State Warriors.

Contract uncertainty caused Thompson to remove himself for consideration for Canada's entry in the FIBA Americas tournament earlier this month. With a third-place finish, Canada will now compete in one of three six-team tournaments in July for a spot in the 2016  Rio Summer Olympics. If a long-term deal is settled before next summer, Thompson will likely be a member of Steve Nash's Canadian contingent.
