The Minnesota Twins have signed former Detroit Tigers starter Anibal Sanchez to a one-year deal worth $2.5 million according to Bob Nightengale of USA Today. 

Nightengale reports that he has an additional $2.5 million in incentives in his contract based on games started. 

Sanchez struggled mightily last season for the Tigers, pitching to an ERA of 6.41 in 105.1 innings. In 2013, Sanchez won the American League's ERA title (2.57) over 182.0 innings.

The Twins will open their season  on March 29 against the Baltimore Orioles.
