Vladimir Guerrero Jr.'s eventual journey to the Toronto Blue Jays has taken its next step.

The game's top prospect will be in the Triple-A Buffalo Bisons' lineup on Thursday night, batting third in the order as the designated hitter after a rehab stint in Dunedin.

The Bisons' Wednesday game was rained out and they are opening a series with the New York Yankees' affiliate Scranton Wilkes-Barre RailRiders.

Guerrero, 20, missed the last three weeks of spring training with an oblique injury. During his four games with A-ball Dunedin Blue Jays, Guerrero went 4-for-15 at the plate.

Though he played the majority of last season with the Double-A New Hampshire Fisher Cats, Guerrero finished his season with the Bisons.

In 30 games with Buffalo, Guerrero hit .336 with six home runs, 16 runs batted in and an OPS of .978.
