The New York Yankees have reached out to free-agent starting pitcher CC Sabathia according to John Heyman of Fan Rag Sports.

The 37-year-old lefty has been with the Yankees since signing a seven year $171 million contract after the 2008 season.

In an interview earlier in the offseason the veteran said, "This is my home. I want to see things through. This is where I want to play."

He posted a 14-5 record, with a 3.69 ERA, 1.27 WHIP, and 120 strikeouts in 2017, and had a 2.37 ERA in four playoff starts. In his Yankee career, Sabathia went 120-73 with a 3.75 ERA while striking out 1,453.
