The Saskatchewan Roughriders announced Monday they have signed Canadian linebacker Sam Hurl to a one-year contract extension.

Hurl started his CFL career with the Roughriders before moving to the Winnipeg Blue Bombers for three seasons for 2015-17. Last season was Hurl's first back with the Roughriders and the 28-year-old finished with 41 tackles.

For his career, Hurl, a University of Calgary product, has 206 tackles, eight sacks, and three interceptions in 108 regular season games.
