The Saskatchewan Roughriders have signed East Division All-Star running back William Powell, the team announced.

Powell spent the past three seasons with the Ottawa Redblacks, and finished with a career-high 1,362 rushing yards last season. Powell also had six touchdowns on the ground and another two receiving touchdowns.

In 35 career regular season games in the CFL, Powell has 500 carries for 2,835 yards and 13 touchdowns while adding another 719 yards and four touchdowns receiving.
