Buffalo, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - The Buffalo Sabres have acquired goaltender Robin Lehner and forward David Legwand from the Ottawa Senators.

The Sabres gave the Senators the 21st overall pick in the 2015 NHL Draft, which begins Friday with Round 1 and then continues Saturday with rounds two through seven.

Lehner, 23, was 9-12-3 with a 3.02 goals-against average and .905 save percentage in 25 games for the Senators last season. He did not play again after suffering a concussion on Feb. 16.

Once viewed as the Senators' goaltender of the future, Lehner became expendable following the emergence of Andrew Hammond, who keyed Ottawa's late-season surge for a playoff spot.

Lehner was selected in the second round of the 2009 draft by Ottawa and has compiled a 30-36-13 record with a 2.88 GAA and .914 save percentage in 86 career games.

Legwand, 34, had nine goals and 18 assists in 80 games for the Senators last season.

The first draft pick in the history of the Nashville Predators at No. 2 overall in 1998, Legwand played for the franchise until being dealt to the Detroit Red Wings at the trade deadline during the 2013-14 season.

Legwand has 223 goals and 381 assists in 1,057 career games.
