The injury crisis got worse for undermanned Tottenham Hotspur on Tuesday with word that England midfielder Dele Alli will be out until at least March with a hamstring strain, following a scan.
Spurs is already without Harry Kane until March with an ankle injury, while influential midfielder Son Heung-Min is on international duty with South Korea at the Asian Cup.
Alli, 22, picked up the injury during the team's 2-1 win over Fulham on Sunday.
On top of the injuries to Kane and Alli, midfielder Moussa Sissoko is expected out for two weeks with a groin ailment, while Brazil winger Lucas Moura has also been sidelined.
Spurs currently sit third in the table, nine points behind leaders Liverpool. Mauricio Pochettino's side is next in action on Thursday in the second leg of their League Cup semi-final tie with Chelsea, where they hold a 1-0 lead on aggregate, at Stamford Bridge.
The team's next league match comes on Jan. 30 when they host Watford. Spurs travels to Selhurst Park on Sunday to meet Crystal Palace in the fourth round of the FA Cup.
