As we near the midpoint of the Major League Baseball season, there are some surprising starting pitchers offering value on the waiver wire, beginning with a veteran Blue Jays pitcher.

Here are some players to consider adding to your fantasy team, owned in fewer than 60% of TSN leagues:

Marco Estrada, SP, Toronto – The veteran Blue Jays starter got off to a brutal start this year, posting a 5.68 ERA through his first 11 starts, but he’s rounded into form in June, posting a 1.75 ERA and 0.82 WHIP with 26 strikeouts in 25 2/3 innings. Worth a look if you have a need for starting pitching. Owned: 15.8%

Wade LeBlanc, SP, Seattle – Sticking with soft-tossing starters, LeBlanc is a 33-year-old journeyman lefty who has mostly been a reliever over the past five seasons, but he’s made 10 starts for the Mariners, and he’s been really effective, with a 2.91 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and 42 strikeouts in 52 2/3 innings. Owned: 18.4%

Anibal Sanchez, SP, Atlanta – A 34-year-old who had a 6.09 ERA over the past two seasons in Detroit, he’s not throwing very hard, but has found a cutter that is making a real difference for him and he has a 2.55 ERA and 1.06 WHIP with 39 strikeouts in 42 1/3 innings. Owned: 23.7%

Kyle Barraclough, RP, Miami – The fourth-year reliever has developed a change-up and is delivering the goods as the Marlins closer. He has a 1.05 ERA and 0.73 WHP with 35 strikeouts in 34 1/3 innings, and he’s recorded six straight saves over his past nine appearances. Owned: 43.1%

Michael Taylor's stolen base value is enough to warrant adding in fantasy.

Michael Taylor, CF, Washington – If for nothing more than his league-leading 23 stolen bases, Taylor should be much more-widely owned. His playing time is still a little hit-and-miss, but in his last 15 games, he is hitting .486 and has eight steals. Owned: 32.2%

John Hicks, 1B/C, Detroit – He’s struggled lately, going 1-for-20 (.050 AVG) with 11 strikeouts in the past six games, but he’s looking at regular playing time now that Miguel Cabrera is out for the season. The big win, though, is that Hicks is catcher-eligible, making his level of production much more appealing. Owned: 27.7%

Matt Duffy, 3B, Tampa Bay – After missing the entire 2017 season, the 27-year-old third baseman has returned to the Rays lineup and he’s hitting .318 with a .802 OPS. Owned: 28.6%

Jon Jay, RF, Arizona – Moving to the Diamondbacks is a new opportunity for the veteran outfielder and he’s making the most of the chance. In his past dozen games, he has scored 13 runs and is hitting .408 with a 1.065 OPS.  Owned: 43.2%
