Jack Eichel – Buffalo’s star centre recorded a hat trick and added an assist in Friday’s 5-4 overtime loss to Carolina. He had five points (1 G, 4 A) in his previous nine games.

Gabriel Landeskog – Colorado’s captain produced three goals and two assists in Saturday’s 6-5 loss to Tampa Bay. He had five points (2 G, 3 A) in his previous 10 games.

Sam Bennett – It hasn’t been easy for Calgary’s third-year forward, but he’s making progress. He had a goal and three assists in Sunday’s 6-1 win at Vancouver, and has 12 points (4 G, 8 A) in the past 11 games.

Brian Boyle – Coming back from cancer, the Devils centre scored two goals and added an assist in Friday’s 5-2 win against Dallas, giving him five points (4 G, 1 A) in the past five games. He’s scored eight goals in 22 games this season, which would easily be the best per-game rate (0.36) of his career.

Jonathan Marchessault – The former Panthers winger put up a goal and two assists in Vegas’ 5-2 win over Florida on Sunday. He has 19 points (7 G, 12 A) in the past 15 games.

John Tavares – The Islanders centre produced a goal and two assists in Saturday’s 4-3 overtime win against the Kings, giving him 21 points (6 G, 15 A) in the past 15 games.

Shayne Gostisbehere – Philadelphia’s puck-moving blueliner scored twice in Saturday’s 2-1 overtime win vs. Dallas, and has seven points (5 G, 2 A) in the past 10 games.

Carter Hutton – St. Louis’ backup goaltender stopped all 48 shots he faced in Saturday’s 2-0 win against Winnipeg. He has a .949 save percentage in eight games this season.

ZEROES

Max Pacioretty – Montreal’s captain was on the ice for all three goals against in Saturday’s 3-0 loss at Ottawa.

Blake Comeau – The Avalanche winger was on the ice for three goals against during Saturday’s 6-5 loss to Tampa Bay.

Colton Sceviour – In Sunday’s 5-2 loss at Vegas, the Florida winger was on the wrong side of the puck (3 for, 13 against, 18.8 CF%, 0-6 scoring chances).

Nick Jensen – The Detroit defenceman had a rough night (1 for, 12 against, 7.7 CF%) in Friday’s 3-1 win vs. Toronto.

Jacob Markstrom – Vancouver’s goaltender surrendered five goals on 19 shots in Sunday’s 6-1 loss to Calgary. He has a .848 save percentage in his past four starts.

VITAL SIGNS

Brock Boeser – Vancouver’s sensational rookie suffered a foot injury blocking a shot Sunday. It didn’t look good, so the Canucks could very well add Boeser to an injured list that already includes Bo Horvat, Sven Baertschi, Chris Tanev and others.

Cam Talbot – Edmonton’s goaltender returned to action and stopped 29 of 31 shots in Saturday’s 3-2 win at Minnesota. He has a .927 save percentage in his past four games.

Chris Tanev – Vancouver’s shutdown blueliner is out for at least a couple of weeks with a lower-body injury.

SHORT SHIFTS

Flames rookie C Mark Jankowski produced a goal and two assists in Sunday’s 6-1 victory at Vancouver; he had one assist in his previous seven games…Flames D Mark Giordano scored two goals, and Flames D Dougie Hamilton added two assists, at Vancouver. Giordano has six points (3 G, 3 A) in the past eight games, and Hamilton had gone without a point in his seven previous games…Jets D Josh Morrissey scored a goal and added an assist in Sunday’s 4-0 win over St. Louis, giving him eight points (3 G, 5 A) in the past 11 games…Jets C Andrew Copp and D Jacob Trouba both added a couple of assists against the Blues.
