Saros stands tall for the Predators, Bailey’s hat trick, MacKinnon stays hot; Roy, Stalock and more in Scott Cullen’s Statistically Speaking.

HEROES

Juuse Saros – Nashville’s backup netminder stopped all 46 shots sent in his direction in a 4-0 win at Edmonton. After a tough start to the season, the 22-year-old has rebounded to put up a .952 save percentage in his past four starts.

Josh Bailey – The Islanders winger put up a hat trick in a 6-4 loss at Columbus, giving him 20 points (5 G, 15 A) in the past 15 games. John Tavares assisted on all three of Bailey’s goals, and has 18 points (5 G, 13 A) in the past 14 games.

Nathan MacKinnon – Colorado’s star centre scored two goals in a 2-1 win over Florida. In the past 21 games, MacKinnon has put up 30 points (12 G, 18 A).

Kevin Roy – Recalled from the AHL, the rookie winger scored a pair of goals in a 3-1 win at St. Louis. He has six points (5 G, 1 A) in his past seven NHL games.

Jakob Chychrun – Arizona’s second-year defenceman was crushed (7 for, 42 against, 14.3 CF%, 4-18 scoring chances) in a 4-1 loss to Tampa Bay.

Tyler Myers – Winnipeg’s towering blueliner was on the ice for three 5-on-5 goals against in a 5-1 loss to Chicago.

Anders Bjork – The Bruins’ rookie winger was benched during a 5-3 loss to Washington, playing a team-low 6:47.
