Schenn leads the Blues to a road win; Nyquist, Pouliot, Haula, Kopitar, Schneider and more in Scott Cullen’s Statistically Speaking.

HEROES

Brayden Schenn – The career year continues for the new Blues centre. He scored three goals in a 4-3 win at Montreal, ending a five-game point drought.

Gustav Nyquist – Detroit’s speedy winger scored a pair of goals and added a helper in a 5-1 victory against Winnipeg. He had one assist in his previous five games.

Derrick Pouliot – The Canucks defenceman put up a goal and two assists in a 3-0 win against Carolina. He had gone five games without a point, but has a career-high 10 points (2 G, 8 A) in 25 games this season.

Erik Haula – The Vegas centre scored once and assisted on two more goals in a 4-3 shootout win against Anaheim, and has six points (3 G, 3 A) in the past seven games.

Anze Kopitar – In a 5-2 win over Minnesota, the Kings centre scored one goal and added two assists, giving him 11 points (6 G, 5 A) in the past eight games.

Cory Schneider – New Jersey’s netminder stopped 41 of 42 shots in a 4-1 win at Columbus. He has a .938 save percentage in his past six starts.

Josh Bailey – The Islanders winger struggled (8 for, 21 against, 27.6 CF%, 5-13 scoring chances) and was on the ice for three goals against in a 6-2 loss at Tampa Bay.

Charles Hudon – Montreal’s rookie winger had a tough night (10 for, 19 against, 34.5 CF%) and was on for three goals against in a 4-3 loss to St. Louis.

Ben Chiarot and Dustin Byfuglien – The Jets’ defence tandem was on the wrong side of the puck (6 for, 13 against, 31.6 CF%) and on the ice for three goals against in a 5-1 loss at Detroit.

Ryan McDonagh and Nick Holden – The Rangers’ top defence pair was buried in their own end (5 for, 28 against, 15.2 CF%) in a 4-3 win at Pittsburgh.

Thomas Greiss – The Islanders goaltender gave up six goals on 34 shots in a 6-2 loss at Tampa Bay. He has a .870 save percentage in his past six games.

VITAL SIGNS

Justin Schultz – The Penguins blueliner suffered a lower-body injury against the Rangers.

Bo Horvat – It may not be serious, but the Canucks centre appeared to suffer an upper-body injury vs. Carolina.

Hampus Lindholm – An upper-body issue kept the Ducks defender out of the lineup at Vegas; Jaycob Megna was plugged into the lineup for Anaheim.

Ondrej Pavelec – With Henrik Lundqvist out due to illness, Pavelec stepped in and stopped 41 of 44 shots to backstop the Rangers to a 4-3 win at Pittsburgh.
