Luke Wileman provides play-by-play commentary for TSN’s soccer coverage, including MLS ON TSN, calling the action for the Vancouver Whitecaps, Montreal Impact, and Toronto FC.
Wileman has also hosted international soccer coverage for TSN, including English Premier League, UEFA Europa League, and UEFA EURO 2012 and 2016 from the TSN studio alongside Kristian Jack. During the London 2012 Olympic Games, Wileman called the dramatic semifinal as 3.84 million Canadians watched the national women’s soccer team take on the United States. Wileman is also set to host coverage of the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia™.
For his work during the 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup Canada, as well as the 2016 MLS Cup, Wileman was recognized by the Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television with Canadian Screen Awards for Best Play-by-Play Announcer.
Wileman brings more than 15 years of soccer broadcasting experience in Europe and North America to TSN. Before moving to Canada in 2006, he spent 10 years with the BBC in England as a sports broadcaster and play-by-play commentator for the English Premier League and other top European soccer competitions.
Following his move to Canada, Wileman covered the beautiful game in just about every way; spending time as a soccer reporter, sports anchor, and soccer writer before moving into the booth as play-by-play voice for TSN soccer.
Wileman graduated from the University of Sheffield with an honours degree in Journalism.
