The cries for Vladimir Guerrero Jr.'s call-up to the Toronto Blue Jays will have to be put on hold for the time being, as the New Hampshire Fisher Cats have placed the 19-year-old slugger on the seven-day disabled list with a left knee injury, according to TSN's Scott Mitchell.

"For us, it’s just about being extra cautious given that the injury occurred last Saturday and when he came back there was a little bit of a setback,” Blue Jays director of player development Gil Kim said, via Postmedia's Rob Longley.

“We’re just being extra cautious. It’s not expected to be anything serious.”

Guerrero left Wednesday's Double-A contest with the Akron RubberDucks in the fourth inning. After reaching base on a single, Guerrero advanced to second on a single by Cavan Biggio. After reaching second with a slide, he indicated to the dugout that he was hurt and was immediately lifted for a pinch runner.

"[Guerrero] feels fine, we're just being cautious with it," Fisher Cats manager John Schneider said in a statement following Wednesday night's game. "Just to make sure whenever he's back to be full strength."

Guerrero was also lifted from Tuesday night's game for unrelated cautionary reasons.

In 53 games this season, Guerrero is hitting .407 with 11 home runs and 55 runs batted in with an OPS of 1.124.
