MOOSE JAW, Sask. — Oleg Zaytsev and Reese Johnson scored in the shootout as the Red Deer Rebels edged the Moose Jaw Warriors 4-3 on Saturday in Western Hockey League action.

Chris Douglas scored twice in regulation time for Red Deer (12-5-1) and Jeff de Wit added a single.

Ryan Peckford struck twice and scored in the shootout for Moose Jaw (7-5-4). Daniil Stepanov chipped in as well.

Ethan Anders made 38 saves for the Rebels and Brodan Salmond turned away 27 shots for the Warriors.

Red Deer went 2 for 5 on the power play and Moose Jaw was 1 for 4 with the man advantage.

MEDICINE HAT, Alta. — Brett Kemp scored twice, including the overtime winner, as Edmonton eked out a win over the Tigers.

Vince Loschiavo and Andrei Pavlenko had goals in regulation time for the Oil Kings (12-7-2).

Ryan Jevne, Trevor Longo and Hayden Ostir replied for Medicine Hat (9-8-3).

PORTLAND, Ore. — Shane Farkas kicked out all 26 shots he faced as the Winterhawks shut out Kelowna.

Joachim Blichfeld's goal 3:20 into the first period stood as the winner for Portland (11-6-1), while Cody Glass and Reece Newkirk also scored.

James Porter turned away 47 shots for the Rockets (8-11-0).

LANGLEY, B.C. — Cyle McNabb's game-winning goal came for the Giants at 15:07 of the second period and Vancouver held on to beat Prince George.

Tyler Ho also scored for the Giants (13-3-2).

Connor Bowie had the only goal for the Cougars (7-8-3).

VICTORIA — Riley Woods, Luke Toporowski and Filip Kral all scored in the third period and Spokane never looked back against the Royals.
