St. Paul, MN (SportsNetwork.com) - Minnesota Wild forward Matt Cooke is expected to be sidelined for the next 5-to-6 weeks after undergoing surgery for a sports hernia.

Minnesota coach Mike Yeo made the announcement Friday, calling the procedure successful.

Cooke has four goals and four assists for eight points in 27 games this season, his second with the Wild. He last played Feb. 1 against Vancouver and sat out Tuesday's contest against Chicago.
