Newly acquired wide receiver Chris Williams is learning the offence fast and will play for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats Saturday against the Ottawa Redblacks, head coach June Jones said Thursday.

Williams was acquired by the Ticats alongside pass rusher Jamaal Westerman and two first round draft picks from the Montreal Alouettes in the Johnny Manziel trade. This is Williams' second stop with the Ticats after starting his CFL career in the Black and Gold in 2011. In four games with the Alouettes this season, Williams had 15 receptions for 283 yards and a touchdown.

Williams will slot into the receiving corps while Terrence Toliver joins Luke Tasker on the injured list. Jones said both receivers will not play for the Ticats Saturday. It will be the second straight game Tasker misses due to injury while for Toliver it will also be his second game missed this season due to injury after he didn't suit up in the season opener.

Tasker has 20 receptions for 279 yards and two touchdowns, and Toliver has 16 receptions for 253 yards and one touchdown for the Ticats this season.

No confirmation yet on how much action Westerman will see in his first game with the Ticats, or who will replace Tony Washington, who was traded alongside Manziel to Montreal, at left tackle.
