Days after signing fourth overall draft pick Drew Desjarlais, the Winnipeg Blue Bombers announced Friday they've also signed fifth overall draft pick Jonathan Kongbo.

Kongbo, a defensive lineman, played 30 games with 17 starts over three seasons at the University of Tennessee. He finished his collegiate career with 51 tackles and 3.5 sacks.

Kongbo suffered a season-ending knee injury last Octobber which may have affected his draft stock in the NFL. According to the Canadian Press, most CFL officials expected Kongbo to either be drafted or sign as an undrafted free agent in the NFL.
