Head coach Scott Milanovich confirmed Ricky Ray suffered a concussion against the Montreal Alouettes Sunday and put his status for the Argonauts’ must-win matchup against the Ottawa Redblacks Friday in doubt.

“Ricky would be doubtful at best right now,” Milanovich told reporters after practice Tuesday. While Milanovich didn’t sound optimistic about Ray’s status, he didn’t rule the veteran quarterback out and said he would be evaluated this week.

If Ray can’t go, backup Trevor Harris is expected to take his place in the starting lineup.

Ray leads the league with 4,595 passing yards and 28 touchdowns.

The team also announced they have released former NFL receiver LaVon Brazill and Ezra Butler.
