Makar’s landmark deal includes highest AAV in NHL history

The record for the NHL’s highest cap hit just keeps rising. Colorado Avalanche defenceman Cale Makar now tops the list after signing an eight-year, $163.2 million deal on Friday. The deal, which kicks in to begin the 2027-2028 season, carries a historic $20.4 million cap hit.


Andersen, Janmark, Savoie and Regula to miss Oilers training camp
