The Montreal Canadiens trimmed their forward ranks on Wednesday, sending winger Michael Bournival to the Hamilton Bulldogs of the American Hockey League.

Head coach Michel Therrien told reporters that Bournival will get in a couple of games with the Bulldogs over the weekend before being recalled next Monday.

Bournival, 22, was a healthy scratch for the Canadiens' first four games of the season.

He scored seven goals and tallied 14 points in 60 games with Montreal last season.
