While Carey Price won't join the Montreal Canadiens for their trip to Toronto Wednesday night, interim head coach Dominique Ducharme said the goaltender is day-to-day with a lower-body injury that has been nagging him.

Ducharme added that the injury wasn't caused by a specific play during the team's 3-2 overtime win on Monday, in which Price turned aside 21 of 23 shots faced.

“It’s something he’s been carrying for a little bit of time," Ducharme said. "We want to make sure he can take care of it and come back 100 per cent.”

The team announced earlier on Tuesday that  Price would be is staying in Montreal "to get treatments" while the Canadiens travelled to face the Maple Leafs on Wednesday. The Canadiens will play one game in Toronto before returning to Montreal to take on the Winnipeg Jets Thursday evening.
