Tampa Bay Lightning
The Bolts will be without centres Tyler Johnson, Vladislav Namestnikov and Cedric Paquette for Thursday's game against the Toronto Maple Leafs. All three were injured against the Minnesota Wild on March 9. However, injured captain Steven Stamkos skated after practice as he continues to recovery from having knee surgery four months ago. - Joe Smith, Tampa Bay Times
The team recalled 26-year-old forward Byron Froese from the American Hockey League. The Toronto Maple Leafs traded Froese to the Lightning as part of the Brian Boyle deal at the Trade Deadline. - Joe Smith, Tampa Bay Times
Winnipeg Jets
Defenceman Jacob Trouba is out for Thursday's clash against the New York Islanders with an upper-body injury, possibly suffered during a fight with Calgary Flames forward Sam Bennett on Saturday. The 23-year-old couldn't play Monday against the Nashville Predators either. Trouba has six goals and 21 assists over 52 games this season in Winnipeg, his fourth year with the team. On the other hand, it looks like Mark Scheifele (flu), Marko Dano (lower-body) and Nic Petan (healthy scratch past five games) will most likely be in the lineup against the Isles. Winger Shawn Matthias is also out with an undisclosed injury. – Ken Wiebe, Winnipeg Sun
