The Toronto Blue Jays announced on Saturday that reliever Ryan Tepera had been added to its postseason roster in place of the injured Brett Cecil.
Cecil tore a calf muscle in Friday's 14-inning loss to the Texas Rangers.
Tepera appeared in 32 games this past season for the Jays, posting a 0-2 record and a 3.27 earmed-run average in 33 innings. A native of Lake Jackson, Texas, Tepera only allowed 23 hits.
He also made 21 appearances for the Triple-A Buffalo Bisons where he was 3-1 with a 1.06 ERA.
With Cecil out of the lineup, Aaron Loup stands as the team's only left-handed reliever.
The Jays and Rangers meet in Game 3 on Sunday night from Arlington. Marco Estrada is set to take the hill for the Jays. He is opposed by Martin Perez.
The Rangers lead the American League Division Series 2-0.
