Du “NuckleDu” Dang defeated Ricki Ortiz 3-1 in the Grand Finals to become the first North American player to win the Capcom Cup.

The 20-year-old Tampa native, who is also the youngest player to win the event, lost only three games on his quest for the $230,000 grand prize. The top prize is the largest in the history of fighting games.

NuckleDu beat Miky "Samurai" Chae, Kun-ho "Xian" Xian, Zuhojun "Xiao Hai" Zeng and Egami "MOV" Joe and Ortiz as part of his historical performance.

Ortiz defeated Bruce "GamerBee" Hsiang, Inoue "Kazunoko" Ryouta and Haitani "Haitani" Tatsuya en route to the second-place finish.
