OTTAWA - Dante Salituro had two goals and three assists and Jeremiah Addison added a pair of goals and two helpers as the Ottawa 67's opened their Ontario Hockey League playoffs with an 8-5 win against the Niagara IceDogs on Thursday.

Sam Studnicka scored once and set up two more for the 67's, who lead the best-of-seven first-round series 1-0, while Travis Konecny, Trent Mallette and Nathan Todd added the others.

Vince Dunn led the IceDogs with a four-goal performance and Jordan Maletta scored once.

Ottawa's Liam Herbst made 25 saves for the win as Brandon Hope stopped 23-of-31 shots for Niagara.

The 67's went 1 for 8 on the power play while the IceDogs converted twice on three chances with the man advantage.

Ottawa hosts Game 2 on Saturday.

STING 3 OTTERS 2

ERIE, Pa. — Pavel Zacha had a goal and an assist and Taylor Dupuis made 32 saves as Sarnia edged the Otters to take Game 1 of its first-round series.

Jeff King and Stephen Pierog also scored for the Sting.

Alex DeBrincat and Remi Elie supplied the offence for Erie, which entered the post-season on a 10-game win streak. Devin Williams kicked out 29-of-32 shots in defeat.

Game 2 goes Friday in Erie.

COLTS 3 BULLS 2

BARRIE, Ont. — Mackenzie Blackwood made 37 saves, including 16 in the third period, as the Colts opened their first-round matchup against Belleville with a victory.

Ben Harpur, Garrett Hooey and Andrew Mangiapane scored for Barrie.

The Bulls got goals from Jordan Subban and Stephen Harper. Charlie Graham turned away 31-of-34 shots in a losing cause.

Barrie hosts Game 2 on Monday.
