Toni Kroos’ 95th minute marker earned Germany their first win at the 2018 FIFA World Cup™ and laid the groundwork for a dramatic final day to Group F.  Meanwhile, Brazil will try to find their way through Group E, which will also be up for grabs on Wednesday at the World Cup.

Both Group F games can be seen Wednesday at 9am et/6am pt, South Korea and Germany can be found across the TSN Network, while Mexico will battle Sweden on TSN2.  Both matches will be streaming on TSN.ca and available on TSN Direct.

Sitting at the top of Group F, Mexico has the clearest path into the Round of 16.  If the North American side earns at least a point in their final match against Sweden, they will top the group and advance into the knockout stage of the tournament.

However, despite having six points from their first two games, there is a scenario where Mexico could go from group lead to eliminated as the final day of the group plays out.

Defending champion Germany enters their Group F game against South Korea equal on points and goal differential with Sweden.  Meaning that keeping an eye on the results from both games will be required to determine who plays on in Russia.

While scoreboard watching will be both required and welcomed by fans, German coach Joachim Low says the champions must handle their own business.

"We need to have clarity in our own result,” said Low.  “We know what we need to do and we'll look at our own performance, we will try and be the masters of our own destiny."

Despite entering play with zero points after dropping their first two games, South Korea remains alive and if they can defeat Germany and Mexico tops Sweden, they would find themselves in a three-way tie and goal differential would be used to decide who advances.

Searching for their first win of the tournament against Germany will not be an easy task and South Korean coach Shin Tae-yong knows his team will have to fight to the final whistle to stay alive.

“To be honest, Germany are a lot stronger than us and it won’t be easy,” said Shin.  “We must make it as difficult as possible for Germany to play their own game and instead of having too many thoughts in their heads, the players must play simply and accurately. It will be a last-ditch effort.”

Sweden will have to slow Mexico down on Wednesday if they are going to have a shot at staying in the tournament.  A victory means they will finish tied for the top of the group with at least their opponents and could also have them in a three-way lockup, if Germany is also successful in their final game.

If Germany falls to South Korea, a single point will get the job done for Sweden.

"They are fast and technically gifted,” Sweden coach Janne Andersson said about Mexico.  “We respect them as opponents. We are not going to be surprised by them. We know they are [a] good team. We are ready to play them and we are looking forward to the challenge."

After a frustrating first game where he found himself neutralized and his team held to a 1-1 draw, Neymar was reduced to tears after hitting the scoresheet for the first time in Brazil’s thrilling stoppage time, 2-0 win over Costa Rica.

Both Group E games can be seen Wednesday at 1pm et/10am pt, Serbia and Brazil can be found across the TSN Network, while Switzerland will face Costa Rica on TSN2.  Both matches will be streaming on TSN.ca and available on TSN Direct.

The South American side can book their place in the Round of 16 if they earn a point in the final match against Serbia, but their boss isn’t necessarily planning to only rely on his superstar to get the job done.

"We are not placing an excessive responsibility on Neymar's shoulders for success or failure," Brazil coach Tite said. "It's the whole team which wins or loses."

While a draw could see Serbia also advance to the knockout round, a win will guarantee them a place in the last 16 and their coach Mladen Krstajic has an eye on doing exactly that against one of the game’s all-time most successful teams.

"We have no fear of Brazil, but we have to be patient, disciplined and play as a team,” said Krstajic.  “We have to satisfy the Serbian nation.”

"We have nothing to lose but if we are not ready to give our all, then we will have lost.  You may lose, but you must not shirk your responsibility."

Entering play on Wednesday, level on points with Brazil at the top of the group, Switzerland also advances if they can gain a point against Costa Rica.  They will also be through if Serbia loses to Brazil
