SYDNEY, N.S. - Frederic Gamelin had the shootout winner as the Baie-Comeau Drakkar edged the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles 5-4 on Thursday in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League action.
Valentin Zykov, Simon Chevrier, Luca Ciampini and Vincent Lavoie all scored for Baie-Comeau (10-4-1) in regulation time. Ciampini and Maxime St-Cyr had shootout goals.
Philippe Cadorette made 32 saves for the Drakkar, including turning aside 4-of-6 skaters in the shootout.
Kyle Farrell struck twice, including on a penalty shot, in regulation time for Cape Breton (7-7-2). Clark Bishop and Evgeny Svechnikov also scored. Svechnikov and Maxim Lazarev had goals in the shootout.
Francois Brassard stopped 10-of-14 shots in 29:19 of work for the Screaming Eagles. Miguel Sullivan made 20 saves in relief and stopped three skaters in the shootout.
Baie-Comeau did not score on its two power plays, Cape Breton went 1 for 3 with the man advantage.

Carl Neill, David Storto and Tim Wieser had a goal and an assist each for Sherbrooke (11-4-0).
Pierre-Maxime Poudrier scored twice for the Foreurs (5-9-1), while Anthony Beauregard also found the back of the net.
