SYDNEY, N.S. - Fourth-place Cape Breton Screaming Eagles inched closer to the top spot in the Martimes division on Saturday night with a 4-2 victory over the Saint John Sea Dogs in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League action.

Cape Breton (5-3-1) would start the game with three consecutive goals, including two off the stick of Duncan MacIntyre. Colby Tower and Kyle Farrell would also score to round out the Screaming Eagles scoring.

Samuel Dove-McFalls and Spencer Smallman both scored for Saint John (5-2-2).

Francois Brassard made 26-of-28 saves in net for Cape Breton while Blade Mann-Dixon stopped 23-of-27 shots in the loss.

Cape Breton scored twice on six power-play attempts while Saint John was unsuccessful in six attempts.

MONCTON, N.B. — Ivan Barbashev scored twice in regulation and again in the shootout as the Wildcats edged Val-d'Or.

Christophe Lalonde added another for Moncton (6-2-0).

Nicolas Aube-Kubel, Jan Mandat and Anthony Richard supplied the offence for the Foreurs (2-6-1).

Mason McDonald started the game for Charlottetown (5-3-2) allowing four goals on 23 shots. Daryl MacCallum replaced McDonald in the third period, stopping 4-of-7 shots.
