The Ottawa Redblacks announced Friday the team has signed veteran defensive back Chris Randle to a one-year contract and backup quarterback Dominique Davis to a two-year contract extension..

Randle signed with the Redblacks after being released by the Winnipeg Blue Bombers earlier in January. The 30-year-old Randle had spent the past five seasons with the Blue Bombers, and finished last year with 52 tackles and two interceptions in 17 games.

Randle started his CFL career with the Calgary Stampeders and has 285 tackles, 17 interceptions, and three sacks in 106 career regular season games.

In eight games for the Redblacks last season, Davis went 24-39 for 373 yards with three touchdowns and one interception. Davis also had six rushing touchdowns in 2018, his first season in Ottawa.

Prior to that, the 29-year-old Davis played with the Blue Bombers.
