The New York Rangers will be without starting goaltender Henrik Lundqvist for at least three weeks with a vascular injury suffered Saturday against the Carolina Hurricanes, according to the team website.

The team is consulting with medical experts on the extent of the injury.

Lundqvist suffered the injury when he was struck in the neck by a puck in the second period.  He went on to finish that contest as well as play the Rangers next game, on Monday, against the Florida Panthers.

The 32-year-old netminder then went in for tests because he was suffering headaches.

A report in the New York Post indicates that Lundqvist did not suffer nerve damage and is not experiencing post-concussion symptoms.

Following practice on Friday, Rangers head coach Alain Vigneault said Lundqvist would not make the trip to Nashville.  Cam Talbot will get the start in net against the Predators.

He has played in 39 games this season for the Rangers posting a 25-11-3 record with a 2.25 goals against average.
