The Toronto Blue Jays made several moves on Friday ahead of their opener against the Chicago White Sox, calling up outfielder Jonathan Davis and pitchers Thomas Pannone and Jay Guerra, while designating outfielder Socrates Brito for assignment and placing pitcher Clay Buchholz on the Injured List (retroactive to May 9) with shoulder inflammation. 

Davis had been off to a strong start in Buffalo.

The Camden, AR native is batting .306 with four home runs and nine runs batted in and an OPS of 1.125 through 16 games this season.

Davis made his Major League debut last season with the Jays and appeared in 20 games, batting .200 with five hits in 27 plate appearances.

Buchholz has started in five games for the Blue Jays this season, going 0-2 with a 6.57 ERA and 1.541 WHIP in 24.2 innings.

Pannone has appeared in 13 games with two starts for the Blue Jays this season. He has a 1-3 record and 7.40 earned run average with 23 strikeouts in 20.2 innings pitched.
