The summer continues on as we have more new tracks to vibe to. On deck this week, we have a throwback album (again) from Kid Cudi, along with singles by Joey Bada$$, Calvin Harris, and Roy Woods.

As usual, you can hear what our team is listening to at THE SHIFT playlist on Spotify. Good vibes only. Enjoy the music!

Kid Cudi - A Kid Named Cudi

No, you didn’t read that wrong and no, it isn’t a new album of the same name. In Kid Cudi’s second album release in as many weeks, he shares his iconic debut project that dropped well over a decade ago. Available for the first time on streaming platforms, this 2022 version comes with a new cover art as well.

Fans of Cudi will undoubtedly debate his best project until the end of time, but none can deny the impact A Kid Named Cudi had when it first dropped in July of 2008. The album featured his breakout hit “Day ‘N’ Nite” and caught the attention of Kanye West, who would then invite him to work on 808s & Heartbreak before signing him to a deal. The rest is history.

Joey Bada$$ - “Zipcodes”

Another artist with releases in back-to-back weeks.

This time, Joey Badas$$ hits us with “Zipcodes”, a delicate, ever-so-smooth follow up to his emotionally charged “Survivor’s Guilt” drop from last week. Both tracks are teasers, due to appear on the New York MC’s forthcoming album, 2000, the follow-up to 2019’s Escape From New York. The project is set to release on July 22.
