Lions release Hagerty following completion of suspension

Josh Hagerty’s CFL suspension is over and so is his time with the BC Lions. The team announced the release of the defensive back on Tuesday. Hagerty had been banned for two games for striking Alouettes RB Liam Talbot in the groin during a Sept. 12 game. Talbot underwent season-ending surgery for what was called a “life-altering” injury.


CFL: Lions 24, Argonauts 17

Sean Whyte kicked a club-record eight field goals as the Lions held on for a win over the Argonauts on Saturday afternoon. BC earned a third straight win and seventh in eight games as Whyte broke the club mark he and Lui Passaglia held jointly.


CFL: Blue Bombers 10, Alouettes 37

Davis Alexander threw for 440 yards and a touchdown, Tyson Philpot finished with season-high 207 receiving yards, breaking the CFL single-season record for receiving yards by a Canadian, and set an Alouettes franchise record by hauling in his 113th reception of the season, and Montreal clinched the East Division title in their win over the Blue Bombers on Saturday.


Evans gets his second score to put Alouettes up big

After a pass interference call put the Alouettes on the one-yard line, short-yardage quarterback Caleb Evans gets into the end zone for his second touchdown of the night to put Montreal up big.
