Colorado star Hunter likely to miss next two games
Colorado two-way star Travis Hunter will likely miss the team's next two games as he continues to recover from a lacerated liver, coach Deion Sanders said Tuesday.
Jaxson Dart threw for four touchdowns, including a 13-yard, game-winner to Tre Harris with 39 seconds remaining as No. 20 Mississippi rallied past No. 13 LSU 55-49 before a school-record crowd of 66,703 on Saturday night.
The College Football Playoff management committee shelved any talk of format changes to the expanded 12-team field that will begin next season, opting instead to continue to wait to see what the future of the gutted Pac-12 will look like, CFP executive director Bill Hancock said Wednesday.
Josh Kelly caught three touchdowns, two in highlight-reel fashion, Cameron Ward passed for 404 yards and accounted for five scores, and No. 21 Washington State withstood a late rally to upend No. 14 Oregon State 38-35 on Saturday in the Pac-12 Conference opener for both teams.
As much as Deion Sanders' straightforward message gave voice to Colorado's struggles, the results spoke for themselves, too. Over the course of 60 minutes, the Buffs were outplayed in every facet of the game, allowing 518 total yards of offense -- 284 passing, 234 rushing -- while not gaining 200 total yards themselves.
Buckeyes star wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. injured his lower right leg after Notre Dame safety Xavier Watts crashed into him while he was blocking cornerback Cam Hart. Henderson scooted by for a 61-yard touchdown, the first of the game by either team.
