Brooke Henderson looks to defend her title at the CPKC Women's Open and shot a 2-under 68 to sit at 5-under heading into the weekend. 16-year old Calgary native Aphrodite Deng birdied her last two holes to get to 3-under after two rounds.


LPGA: CPKC Women's Open - Rd. 1

Canadian teenagers are within striking distance of clubhouse leader Miyu Yamashita of Japan in the first round of the CPKC Women’s Open. Yamashita shot an 8-under 62, but Vancouver’s Anna Huang, 17, and 18-year-old amateur Michelle Xing of Richmond Hill are three shots back at 5-under. Defending champion and Canadian Brooke Henderson finished her opening round with a 3-under 67.


PGA: BMW Championship - Rd. 1

Rory McIlroy rolled in four birdies in his last six holes en route to a bogey-free 6-under 64 that has him tied atop the leaderboard following the first round of the BMW Championship. World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler had five bogeys in his first 10 holes but recovered to shoot a ?-over on Thursday.
