Defending champion United States fell behind twice, but fought back to beat Germany in a shootout. It's the second win for the Americans in four Group A outings.


WHC: Slovenia 0, Sweden 6

Lucas Raymond and Jacob de la Rose scored two goals each and Arvid Soderblom made 16 saves for the shutout as Sweden rolled past Slovenia.


WHC: Italy 1, Czechia 3

Jakub Flek scored the go-ahead goal midway through the third period as Czechia came away with the tight victory over Italy at the men's World Hockey Championship.


WHC: Switzerland 9, Austria 0

Theo Rochette scored two goals and added an assist, Timo Meier scored one and added two helpers as Switzerland rolled to a convincing win over Austria, who lost for the first time at this year's men's World Hockey Championship.


WHC: Slovakia 5, Slovenia 4 (SO)

Kristian Pospisil scored the shootout winner to give Slovakia a 5-4 win over Slovenia in Fribourg. The win puts the Slovaks into second place with eight points, one behind Canada.


WHC: Great Britain 0, Hungary 5

Krisztian Nagy and Istvan Terbocs scored two goals each and goaltender Bence Balizs made 26 saves en route to the shutout as Hungary defeated Great Britain at the men's World Hockey Championship.


WHC: Norway 4, Italy 0

Eskild Bakke Olsen, Noah Steen, Christian Kaasastul and Tinus Koblars found the back of the net and Henrik Haukeland made 20 saves to pick up the shutout as Norway won 4-0 for the second consecutive game at the men's World Hockey Championship.


WHC: Austria 3, Latvia 1

Benjamin Nissner got the third-period power-play winner as Austria beat Latvia for their third straight win at the men's World Hockey Championship. Tim Harnisch and Vinzenz Rohrer also scored for Austria, which last won three Worlds games in regulation time way back in 1999.


WHC: Denmark 1, Canada 5

Canada got goals in the third period from Porter Martone, Gabriel Vilardi, Denton Mateychuk, Ryan O'Reilly and Parker Wotherspoon while Sidney Crosby contributed four assists in the victory over Denmark.


WHC: Czechia 4, Sweden 3

Czechia took an early three-goal lead and managed to fend off Sweden's comeback attempt to pick up three important points with a 4-3 win.


WHC: Switzerland 6, Germany 1

Sven Andrighetto scored twice, and three goals in 3:33 in the second period blew this game open, as Switzerland improved to 3-0 with their 6-1 win over Germany.
