Scheifele takes over as Canada escapes inspired Norway in OT-thriller

Mark Scheifele produced a hat trick to power Canada to a tight victory over a tough Norway squad at the men's World Hockey Championship. Mark Roe is joined by Cameron Gaunce to break down Scheifele's influence in the game, the game-tying goal from Ryan O'Reilly which forced overtime and Cam Talbot's performance in net.


WHC: Norway 5, Canada 6 (OT)

Norway held the lead with under two minutes to go but Ryan O'Reilly would score the game-tying goal to send the game to overtime, where Mark Scheifele capped his hat trick with the quick OT-winner.


WHC: Finland 7, Latvia 1

Hannes Bjorninen scored a goal and collected two assists. Henri Jokiharju, Saku Maenalanen, Waltteri Merela, and Patrik Puistola each contributed a goal and a helper as Finland defeated Latvia to improve to 4-0 in Group A at the men's World Hockey Championship.


WHC: Germany 3, United States 4 (SO)

Defending champion United States fell behind twice, but fought back to beat Germany in a shootout. It's the second win for the Americans in four Group A outings.


WHC: Slovenia 0, Sweden 6

Lucas Raymond and Jacob de la Rose scored two goals each and Arvid Soderblom made 16 saves for the shutout as Sweden rolled past Slovenia.


WHC: Italy 1, Czechia 3

Jakub Flek scored the go-ahead goal midway through the third period as Czechia came away with the tight victory over Italy at the men's World Hockey Championship.
